FROM:  PARENTAL UNITS

 

Subject: Clothing Allowance

 

1.  Inasmuch as I want you to take charge of your clothing plus learn financial responsibility, I have devised this contract a means of accomplishing both.  This contract is a stand alone agreement.  You can not invoke any other programs with this. Parental units have final say in any disagreement.  We agree to purchase two pair of summer shoes and two pair of winter shoes.  You must purchase any additional footwear. Additionally, we will purchase one spring jacket and one winter coat of our choice as needed.  All undergarments will be your responsibility and will be immediately purchased if directed by parental units.  It is also your responsibility to secure this contract.

 

     a.  I, or my representative, will provide you access to the sum of $25 per government payday providing money is available.  Money not spent in a month may be carried over to the next month.  A bonus of $5 per $25 will be awarded at the end of every month funds saved for a period of a month.  Example: If you had $35 on 30 Jan, add $25 monthly dole out.  28 Feb you would receive a $5 bonus for having kept more than $25 over the month.

 

     b.  After parental unit verification of the register, you are to add the sum into a check register.  Parental unit will initial the next line signifying the register is correct up to that date.

 

     c.  When making a clothing purchase you must present the register as proof that you have the money available.  The checkbook register must be up to date at all times (see penalties).  Catalog orders will be deducted when ordered.  You cannot draw credit against the next month allowance.  You must present the register for all purchases- NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

     d.  As parental units we hold the right to reject any items that we feel inappropriate.  Common since will be enforced.

 

     e.  You must present the register for inspection with all clothing sales receipts (with purchases circled) for verification.  Once validated (this may take a few days to clear) funds may be added to the register.

 

     f.  When, due to inflation, changing countries, fluctuating currencies an increased in the allowance may be required.  You must research all the variables and present your proposal in a letter addressed to me as to why you need the increase.

 

2.  Penalties:

 

     a.  No whining!   A real bank wouldn't care and I won't either.

 

     b.  I, or my representative, may ask for the register at any time.  In the event that we find the checkbook register to be incorrect or out of date, all funds will be deleted.  The next allowance will be added on the appropriate date.

 

     c.  In the event that an error is detected during the request for funds the requested funds will be denied.  All funds in the register will remain.  The register will be re-activated the following pay period.

 

3.  We wish you the best of luck with this program.  It is as close as we can get to the way a real bank would treat you.  We are available for help at any time prior to us catching you doing something you would regret.
